Exciting, adventure, beautiful, and kids can't take their eyes or ears off of it

This book keeps my kids attention from start to finish. They are involved in the reading and on the edge of their seats each time. The pictures are gorgeous!!! The illustration is inspired by real buildings and sights in Scandinavia. There is education wrapped up into this magical adventure of a story as well as a moral lesson of including everyone. This has been our favorite book for a while and I only see it getting replaced by the new Lily book when she goes to Japan. As for the inappropriate wording mentioned in another review, just for context, it refers to the Vikings who get excluded from the Midsummer festival because of their bad actions in the past. Lily helps them get a second chance and part of that is them saying they won't do .......... Its history and it's factual.

Have you bought it yet? Got a kid? Gotta buy this book.

This is a little gem we found on Instagram and couldn’t be more happy with our purchase. We also have the free e-copy offered by the authors during early pandemic days. The hardback is a MUST though. Our 6 year old absolutely loves reading Lily Huckleberry’s adventures. This book is absolutely wonderful for little people who love travel, adventure, culture, and food. It actually makes an interesting read for some grown ups too. The language is easy and we love how some local words are illustrated with pronunciation. The illustrations are unique and engaging. The hard bound book is very well made. The paper and print quality is top class. I see myself gifting this book to all the little readers around me. PS : We also bought the Japan Book. Same review :)

So much fun to read

** Review written by my daughter Maya Sara Karthik ** I love this book! It's a charming tale of the little girl Lily Huckleberry who goes on a magical adventure to Scandinavia. The book is beautifully illustrated, and super fun to read from the word go. My sister asked me to read it to her three times just today! I think this book will be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. 😊 🧡

Great cultural Story,poor pictures

Delightful romp of a story and wee adventure achieved the goal of having a read-aloud related to cultural, fun traditions. Great size of book to share on laps! However, illustrations are distractingly stylized, poor color design and crude. In the world of illustration, these were amateur and created “too small” of scale to be “enlarged” for the books format—as the pixel size blurred and flattened images making them appear “rough”. Story should re-publish w pro-illustrator and would sell a series of these clever “adventures” for many cultures! Success potential!!!

What a beautiful and fun book

The creators really went out of their way to publish a book that is a work of art. From the treatment on the cover to the paper weight, to the surprise beautifully stitched patch inside, this book is a collectors dream. The fun and whimsical story works so well with the lovely illustrations. It's a bit of a read if you're used to quick chapter books, but my six year old daughter insisted we read the entire thing. Highly recommend. Oh ya, I really appreciated the pronunciation guides so that i didn't butcher the language while reading to my kid.

a very fun adventure that you need to read!

Love this whimsical tale about Lily Huckleberry and her Worldwide Adventure Society that you will be sure to desire to join! She takes you to Scandinavia for her 1st adventure and she teaches you much about the culture and customs within fabulous illustrations and great fun! Your children will love to listen as you read this book or enjoy reading it themselves. There is so much information about the culture, pronunciations for words and much much fun hidden in the pages! I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves to learn about other countries! Can't wait to see where Lily travels to next!

So much adventure fun!

This is such a cute story. A strong female character going on an adventure, stepping past her fear to learn and explore. Offering a second chance to a character who did a genuine apology, perfect. I loved the phonetics being included and my most favorite part was the rainbow slide.

Great story with actual facts.

My daughter likes this book series, especially collecting the patches. It really interested her to learn about Scandaniva and vikings. I had read someone did not like the book because of one line lily says to the vikings about promising not to burn down anymore houses. They don't do anything violent in the book and it a historical reference about the viking past, my five year old was not alarmed by it and it did not bother me.

Delightful

This book is a delight to look at and to read. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is absorbing; my 4-year-old wants to read it multiple times per day. She loved earning a patch at the end of the book and is also thrilled with the possibility of sending/receiving (possibly? We haven't tried yet) mail to Lily herself. I can't wait to buy Lily in Japan!
